Getting out of the way: dismantling the barriers that we build to block our own success
Most readers of the Pickle Jar blog will know me for my content strategy work, the fantastic ContentEd community, and perhaps my book, The Connected Campus (2020). But not so many know of my leadership coaching work.
In January I had the pleasure of being invited by the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia to deliver a keynote talk for their Winter Enrichment Programme. My talk was all about the self-talk - or the micro stories - that we tell ourselves that prevent us from moving towards the success that we crave in life and at work.
As they very generously live streamed the talk, I’m delighted that this means I can share it on this blog for anyone to watch over if they’re interested in the topic. So, here’s the talk:
Alongside my keynote, I also spent time during the week:
Co-hosting a workshop for postgraduate students and researchers with my brilliant friend Tony Sheridan: “Empowering and Amplifying: Building Your Online Professional Profile for Career Success”
Delivering my “Tracy on Tour” talk “Building a culture of collaboration” for the communications team
Spending time running a team coaching session with some of the wonderful women in the communications team.
I love it when universities bring me onto campus for a flexible and intense programme of activities that really plays to all my strengths as content strategist, CEO and coach. Of course, the 30 degree dry heat, delights of Jeddah and views over the Red Sea also added to the appeal!
If you’d like to have me spend a few days on your campus working intensively with your community, I’d love to support you this way. Email me directly - tracy@wearepicklejar.com - to chat about your ideas and we can co-create a bespoke programme just for you.
