Head of Strategy

Ellie leads the strategy team at Pickle Jar Communications. 

The strategy team is responsible for defining objectives and setting a vision for our clients and their content. They take insights from stakeholders, audience research, competitors and trends, they then develop plans and strategies to achieve those visions. 

Ellie is particularly interested in how institutions strike the balance between presenting their brand and key messages whilst also providing useful, usable content that meets audiences needs. 

Ellie’s recent projects include:

  • leading content strategy development for Aston University

  • supporting an international school in Zurich with new brand messaging and visual identity

  • leading a digital public engagement project for the Francis Crick Institute

  • developing a content strategy for Fieldwork Education

  • supporting Bocconi University with international student recruitment.

Before joining Pickle Jar Communications, Ellie worked as Head of Online Engagement at Birmingham Metropolitan College for a year, and also at the University of Warwick for almost 8 years.

She has completed her CIPR Diploma, NCTJ Journalism training, and has a degree in English and Psychology.

Ellie lives in Birmingham and outside of work she enjoys nature, bird-watching and walks in the country. She also has a husband, young son and dog called Lola who keep her busy.
