This workshop is only available to members of ContentEd+. Find out more about the benefits of joining ContentEd+.

Canva is a fantastic tool for creating effective designs - particularly across marketing teams within higher education. But are you making the most of it?

We'll start by delving into key design principles like visual hierarchy, contrast, alignment, colour theory and typography before jumping into some of the unique features of the Canva platform:

We’ll take a look at how to utilise Canva's brand kit for cohesive visual identity

We’ll explore some of Canva’s lesser known features that you might not know about that can save time and make content creation easier

We’ll run through some of Canva’s most useful 3rd-party apps and what you can potentially use them in your every day content creation

And we’ll explore Canva’s animation and video creation capabilities and how you can add it to your content creation mix.

Key takeaways

  • What makes a ‘good design’ and what basic principles can I apply no-matter what I’m creating?

  • How can Canva save me time and make visual content creation easier?

  • What are the features of Canva that will make me say “Wow, I didn’t know it could do that?”
